Juventus will attempt to retool their midfield in January. On top of Aaron Ramsey, they are open to moving Arthur, who has gotten little playing time so far. He was excluded by the coach for the recent Venezia match because he was late for practice.

The 25-year-old has played in just 8 out of 23 matches, starting twice, for a total of 256 minutes. He missed the initial part of the schedule due to lower-leg surgery. He went under the knife to solve an ossification that had bothered him for a long time at the beginning of the pre-season training camp.

Arthur joined Juventus in a swap with Miralem Pjanic. Since he had a €70M price tag, which steeply decreased over time, the Bianconeri can not sell him, or they would register a massive loss. He can leave only on loan, likely an 18-month one, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The Brazilian recently changed his agent, and he is now represented by Federico Pastorello. He told Tuttosport: “Maurizio Sarri chose him because of his traits. He does not fit the style of football of Massimiliano Allegri, especially physically. Juventus are happy with how he recovered from the operation, but it is a shame to keep a player like him on the bench. In addition, he wants to go to the World Cup, and he could get a spot only if he featured regularly. We do not rule out anything for the January window.” According to Todofichajes, Lazio, Bayern Munich and Freiburg are eying Arthur.
