Even though Romelu Lukaku is clearly pushing to return to Inter, the interest coming from Juventus is concrete and dated. They have been in touch with his lawyer Sebastien Ledure since March, Corriere dello Sport informs.
At this stage, the two Italian sides can’t accelerate because they need to collect funds from major sales. The Nerazzurri are waiting for Manchester United to raise their proposal for André Onana. Instead, the Old Lady has to cash in on Dusan Vlahovic first. The timing of that is very much up in the air.
According to the publication, it’s not true that Chelsea offered Lukaku to Juventus in a package to sign the Serb. Instead, the Bianconeri communicated that they would lodge their own bid down the line.
Per Sky, Inter have put €30M plus add-ons on the table, which is still too low. They hope the striker won’t change his mind and keeps preferring them over different teams.
More on Romelu Lukaku deal. Chelsea remain in contact with Inter but consider €30m bid “still not at the level wanted”to make deal happen. New talks will follow. 🔵🇧🇪

Our Take on Inter, Juventus, and Lukaku
If there weren’t other factors in play, like the well-documented feud between him and the Bianconeri fans and his manifest affinity for their historic rivals, he’d actually make sense for the Old Lady if the price tag was affordable. Massimiliano Allegri works way better with veterans, and he’s a bigger physical presence than Vlahovic. But such a U-turn on his part would be more than baffling.
