Juventus Lose Paulo Dybala for Inter Clash and Supercoppa

Paulo Dybala will be sidelined for 15/20 days because of a low degree lesion of the medial collateral ligament in the left knee, thus missing the upcoming match with Inter and January 20th’s Supercoppa against Napoli, Juventus announced today. The Argentinian attacker subbed off early after tweaking his knee in the Sassuolo game and was pictured wearing a heavy brace on Monday morning as he was about to take the tests. The injury turned out to be less severe than initially thought.

Weston McKennie also bowed out early versus the Neroverdi because of some discomfort in a hip muscle, but in his case the exams ruled out significant problems, likewise for Federico Chiesa, who hurt his ankle in the tackle that earned Pedro Obiang a red card in the first half. Both players have been labelled as day-to-day and have a chance to feature on Sunday night. Alvaro Morata is expected to start as he managed to play few minutes over the weekend, making his return from a thigh strain.

Napoli are slated to have Dries Mertens back in time for the Supercoppa, as the Belgian attacker, who has spent time on the shelf with an ankle sprain, trained partially with the rest of the group Monday. Kalidou Koulibaly has instead already fully recovered from a thigh injury and was part of the squad list for Sunday’s tilt against Udinese.

On the other hand, there is pessimism regarding the status of Victor Osimhen, who contracted Coronavirus while he was rehabbing from a shoulder injury: Radio Kiss Kiss reported today that the Nigerian forward is still in pain because of a pinched nerve in his arm.
