Juventus Make Decision on Paulo Dybala Future

Juventus have decided to keep hold of under-pressure forward Paulo Dybala beyond the summer regardless of the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the parties are keen to continue together, although they have yet to make any progress in negotiations.

Dybala is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Allianz Stadium and has been contemplating his future following disappointing back-to-back seasons. The Argentine has endured several massive injury setbacks over the past couple of years and has tumbled down the pecking order in Turin.

However, Massimiliano Allegri’s reappointment could change the landscape of Juventus’ transfer plans for the summer. The Bianconeri initially thought about parting ways with the 27-year-old but are now considering making him central to their project next season.

Dybala enjoyed his best season at Juventus during Allegri’s first tenure in Turin. Last season, he racked up just five goals and three assists in 26 competitive appearances, throwing his Bianconeri future into a corridor of doubt.

But Allegri is aware of Dybala’s potential and quality and is eager to tie him down to a new deal despite the striker’s recent struggles.

The forward currently earns around €7.3million per year. The Serie A giants are reportedly ready to pitch the player’s agent Jorge Antun with an extension proposal, which is likely to include a hefty pay rise.

Juventus have prepared an improved €10m contract for the ex-Palermo man and will kick-start negotiations with his agent next month.
