Juventus Make Significant Progress in Karim Adeyemi Talks

Free-spending Serie A heavyweights Juventus have taken a potentially crucial step in their quest to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet Karim Adeyemi. According to TMW, the prodigious forward has agreed to join the Bianconeri on a five-year contract worth €3.5m net per season plus add-ons.

Juventus manager Thiago Motta is hellbent on making Adeyemi his marquee attacking signing this summer after offloading Matias Soule to Roma. The Argentine’s exit has refreshed Juve’s bank accounts, allowing them to open talks with Dortmund over the German winger’s transfer to the Allianz Stadium.

It would likely take around €35m plus €10m in bonuses to close the deal with Dortmund. The Bundesliga giants keep Adeyemi in high regard and will look to make a hefty profit from his exit if the player tries to force his way out. But the Germans’ demands will unlikely blow Juventus out of the water.

It’s been a pacey summer for Juventus thus far. Michele Di Gregorio, Douglas Luiz, and Khephren Thuram have pledged their futures to the Turin club. Motta is unwilling to stop there as he looks to overhaul an underachieving squad he inherited from ex-manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The departure of unsettled forward Federico Chiesa is another part of Motta’s bid to rebuild Juventus. If the record-time Italian champions can cash in on the former Fiorentina star, there’s no doubt they’ll go above and beyond to lure 22-year-old Adeyemi away from Signal Iduna Park.
