Juventus Might Have Trump Card to Sign Monza Starlet

Juventus are plotting a new attempt to convince Monza to sell Andrea Colpani. They’ll try in January, even though they’ll have a way better chance of succeeding in the summer. They have a makeweight that could entice the Brianzoli, Fabio Miretti, TuttoSport informs (via 90min).

Their CEO Adriano Galliani recently reiterated that the playmaker wouldn’t leave and that he wasn’t in talks with any particular side. Inter and Lazio are also reportedly interested.

Monza took an interest in Miretti in the summer and tried to acquire him. Juventus plot to leverage that to snap up Colpani. Coming to terms with the counterparty will still be arduous, though.

The inventive midfielder has fallen into a slump after a fast start. He hasn’t scored or assisted in the last five matches. His team’s performances have suffered because of his downturn in form. The Biancorossi would have to be in a much more solid position in the standings to even consider partying ways with their best player in the winter.

Our Take on Juventus, Colpani, and Miretti

While the Brianzoli starlet is better, it’d be a lateral move considering the time he’d need to adjust to his new surroundings, learn a new role and system, and win over Massimiliano Allegri. Instead, they need to add to the position outright, and perhaps one piece won’t even suffice. Monza will be a lot more lenient in the summer when the pool of suitors will be larger and his price tag higher.
