Juventus Might Make Another Run at Arsenal Midfielder

The Juventus list of midfield targets grows by the day, and they are mulling revisiting one of their summer options, Thomas Partey. The deal didn’t go through in the past window because he was too pricey. The Bianconeri ultimately stood pat at the position. They can no longer do that with Nicolò Fagioli and Paul Pogba disqualified until the end of the season.

Per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Old Lady inquired again about the Gunners staple lately. However, they have reservations about his fitness. He has had a few injuries over the years and is currently on the mend with a thigh strain. His valuation is €18/20M. The player would reportedly accept the destination. He has also been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid too.

On top of Partey, Juventus have earmarked Kalvin Phillips as far as Premier League midfielders are concerned. They could do the deal only on loan with an option to buy, though.

The Bianconeri might also make an attempt to sign Domenico Berardi or a player with similar characteristics in January, the transfer market expert adds.

Our Take on Juventus and Partey

Unless they already have Lazar Samardzic in the bag, which is far from certain, it doesn’t make any sense to sign an aging gritty midfielder, even more so considering his price tag and the fact that he’d miss a month due to AFCON during the winter.
