Juventus Move to the Head of Queue for Top Midfield Prospect

It’s a new dawn at Juventus. Friday was a cheerful day for the Bianconeri faithful as the club cut ties with Massimiliano Allegri and is ready to join forces with Bologna boss Thiago Motta.

Along with the new manager comes the new transfer policy. Calciomercato details how Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has already laid the groundwork for the arrival of Nice’s in-demand midfielder Khephren Thuram.

Wanted by Milan and Inter, the 23-year-old is among the most sought-after prospects in European football. His contract at the Allianz Riviera runs out in 2025, making him available in a cut-price deal this summer. And Juventus are unwilling to pass on this opportunity.

The French outfit would ask for up to €15 million to sanction the transfer of their prized asset. In today’s market, that’s a bargain price. Who better to take advantage of this situation than Juventus?

Capturing top players on favorable terms has been the club’s trademark since Beppe Marotta’s days in the office. And Juventus have not altered the course since his departure.

With Adrien Rabiot’s future in Turin hanging by a thread, Juventus are in the market for a new box-to-box midfielder. At 23, Thuram is already an established Ligue 1 star and would be a perfect replacement for his countryman.

However, Juventus can’t afford to waste time. Across the border, Premier League title hopefuls Arsenal have placed a watchful eye on Thuram. Mikel Arteta admires the young gun and sees him as a suitable heir to injury-prone Thomas Partey.
