Juventus Mulling Over Short-Term Future of Young Newcomer

Kaio Jorge finally made his Juventus debut in the Derby, displaying good skills in limited touches. He had suffered a significant thigh strain right before the start of the season, missing the early portion of the schedule. He featured for an hour in the recent friendly against Alessandria, creating a pair of chances, even though he did not look in peak shape yet.

The starlet talked to Juventus TV afterward: “I am very happy. I had not played this much in three months, and I hope to find some consistency now. Joining a new team and entering a group is always a challenge. I want to help everybody the best I can and learn as much as possible. I thank the doctors for their work with the rehab. There is a different level of strength, quality and pace in Italy.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus do not envision him as a lone center-forward, but rather as a complementary player. The coaching staff believes he could be an impactful bench player right away, though. They took a long-term view when they acquired him exploiting the advantageous price tag.

Since he will have plenty of competition, starting with Alvaro Morata and Moise Kean, a loan spell could be in the cards in January. Cagliari, Sampdoria, and Sassuolo have reached out to the Juventus management to manifest their interest. He would see more playing time in any minnow. The directors are considering the proposals and will decide based upon how the next two months go for him.
