Juventus & Napoli Negotiating Blockbuster Swap Deal

Juventus and Napoli are said to be negotiating a mouth-watering swap deal involving Italy internationals Federico Chiesa and Giovanni Di Lorenzo. According to Sportitalia via CalcioNapoli24, a like-for-like swap would suit all parties involved.

Chiesa is no longer happy with his life at Juventus. Despite Massimiliano Allegri’s departure, his future in Turin hangs by a thread amid talks Thiago Motta doesn’t see him fit for his tactical ideas. In that case, a summer sale would be inevitable.

Adding to that sentiment, Chiesa’s contract at Juventus runs out in 2025. With the parties at loggerheads, the Turin heavyweights are open to severing ties with the former Fiorentina winger. He might be on the fringes at the Allianz Stadium, but his skills are still in high demand.

In addition to Napoli, Roma are eager to offer the 26-year-old an escape route from Juventus. But Aurelio De Laurentiis has an ace up his sleeve. It’s the Partenopei captain Di Lorenzo. Like his international teammate, the right-back isn’t sure about his long-term prospects at his current club.

With both players valued in the region of €25-30m, a high-profile swap deal would make perfect sense. It would allow Chiesa to get his career back on track and Juventus to land an attacking-minded right-back. It has all the makings of a win-win deal.

Though Juventus and Napoli are considering a quick solution, any agreement would probably have to wait until both players return from Euro 2024.

  1. Surely this can’t be true. To lose Chiesa with a more attack-minded coach would be madness.
