Juventus Need to Sell Before Adding Players to their Roster

Juventus were dealt a huge blow in the Serie A title race with the 5-1 defeat at the hands of Napoli, prompting the management to ponder changing the team’s outlook going forward. However, before signing new players, it is essential for the club to offload a handful of them in a bid to free up space in the 29-man squad.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoJuve), selling is a priority for Juventus before buying, and two names have emerged on the forefront.

Weston McKennie is one who has been regularly linked to the exit door, with a host of clubs linked to his signature, including Aston Villa, Leeds United and Chelsea. The USMNT international has failed to live up to midfield standards this season, having already been pondered to be a departure before the start of the campaign.

Chelsea loanee Denis Zakaria is another name who will supposedly leave the club come the summer transfer window. Zakaria, who is currently sidelined with an injury, was not included in Massimiliano Allegri’s season plans, and thus sent on loan before the start of the season. It looks increasingly unlikely that Juventus will hold onto him for years to come, as there is an option for Chelsea to make his transfer permanent.

However, as aforementioned, Juventus will perhaps rid of the two midfielders before making space for new names.
