Negotiations between Juventus and Paul Pogba over the Frenchman’s contract termination are reportedly well underway. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is open to leaving the Allianz Stadium for the second time after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his sentence.

Pogba has barely featured for Juventus since he returned to the club from Manchester United in 2022. Recurring injury setbacks have restricted the highly-rated midfielder to only 213 minutes across 12 appearances in all competitions. As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, the 31-year-old received a Draconic four-game ban over a failed drug test in February.

However, CAS revoked his punishment a couple of days ago. Instead, his suspension is now 18 months, meaning he’ll come back to action early in 2025. In all likelihood, his heavily anticipated return to football fields will not happen in the Bianconeri jersey.

Shortly after the announcement, Juventus have opened talks with Pogba’s representatives over a contract termination. If the parties can find common ground, the troubled Frenchman will leave the club with an immediate effect.

Whether it’s karma or something else, Juventus signed Pogba as a free agent twice. He arrived from Manchester United on both occasions, albeit his two spells at the Allianz Stadium fared quite differently.

While his first stint at Juventus was an utter success, contributing to multiple Serie A titles and earning a reputation as one of Europe’s best midfielders, his second tenure has been marred by injuries and off-field issues, culminating in this potential contract termination.
