Juventus Newcomer Over the Moon After Completing Dream Move

Southampton loanee Carlos Alcaraz has opened up on fulfilling his dream after completing a short-term move to Serie A powerhouse Juventus. In his first press conference as a new Bianconeri midfielder, the 21-year-old admitted linking up with Massimiliano Allegri’s side was a dream come true.

It was impressive, it’s a dream. I know that I will have to work hard to achieve my goals both with Juventus and on an individual level. It was crazy because I was playing with Juventus on the PlayStation and now, I’m here,” Alcaraz said, as quoted by the club’s X account.

With the clock ticking, Juventus turned to Alcaraz to address their shortcomings in the middle of the park amid Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli’s long-term suspensions. Allegri needed a new midfielder to fill the void and bolster Juve’s chances in an eagerly-fought Scudetto race with Inter.

Juventus agreed to pay the Championship outfit €3.7m for a six-month loan with €1.9m in add-ons attached. If the Argentine’s temporary switch goes according to plan, the Italian heavyweights will have an option to make it permanent for approximately €49m at the end of the season.

Alcaraz may not have to wait long to make his Serie A debut. Juventus make a daunting-looking journey to Giuseppe Meazza to take on Inter in a top-table six-pointer on Sunday. It could be an opportunity for the highly-rated midfielder to introduce himself to the Italian crowd, albeit he’s more likely to start on the bench.
