Juventus on the Homestretch of the Acquisition of Djaló

Juventus have successfully overtaken Inter in the race to sign Tiago Djaló, striking an agreement with him as well after finding an understanding with Lille. He’s expected to come in for the medicals next week, Sky informs.

The Bianconeri will spend €3.5M right away plus potentially an equal sum in add-ons. The defender will ink a four-year contract. After some chatter in that respect, the newcomer won’t go out on loan and will stay in Turin to complete his rehab from an ACL tear.

Juventus have been after Djaló for a while, but Inter appeared to have him in the bag for yet another Bosman addition. The Old Lady and Lille managed to convince him to accept the proposal, helping his current team. His former teammate Timothy Weah played a role in the negotiation too, TuttoSport informs.

The Bianconeri don’t have much room to maneuver. They’ll get the money by sending Filippo Ranocchia to either Palermo or Cagliari and especially from Radu Dragusin’s re-sale clause, which amounts to  €5/6M.

Our Take on Juventus and Djaló

They surely like to mess with Inter. They’ll shell out a decent sum to achieve that considering his contractual situation. Still, he looked like a great prospect before the injury. It will still be a bargain if he returns to those levels. While he probably won’t play much this season, he’ll take Alex Sandro’s spot next year.
