Juventus Ownership Poised to Make the Call on Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri reiterated his commitment to Juventus in his most recent remarks. While his permanence is the most likely outcome, his faith will be decided at the highest levels of the club at the end of the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The gaffer had a few meetings with de facto owner John Elkann. The two are on excellent terms. On the other hand, there have been some issues with the front office. The manager didn’t like how the two new apical officials, Maurizio Scanavino and Francesco Calvo, asked for his input on a new sporting director but then struck a deal with Cristiano Giuntoli without informing him. It’s not yet certain Aurelio De Laurentiis will free him up, though.

In addition, Allegri didn’t appreciate the rumors about other coaches, Igor Tudor and Raffaele Palladino in particular. While he can’t veto the arrival of a new exec, he’d like some of the current ones he’s familiar with, Federico Cherubini and Giovanni Manna, to stay put. Moreover, the relationship with some veteran players seems strained.

Elkann will take stock with all parties involved at the end of the campaign. Allegri has two more years on his contract with €5M annual wages. After the Empoli game, he said it would be “cowardly” to leave Juventus at this juncture (via OneFootball).
