Juventus Part Ways with Excess Player at the Buzzer

Juventus have found a landing spot for Tiago Djaló at last. The defender has officially joined Porto on loan with no option to buy. The two teams will split his wages. The center-back was looking for a team where he could star consistently following a knee injury and failing to win over two coaches, Mediaset informs.

He has logged just 16 minutes since moving to Turin for €3.6M last January. He basically never played since tearing his ACL in March of 2023. The transfer will also allow him to regain visibility national team-wise. He has been called up on two occasions in 2022 but stayed on the bench. The deal keeps the channel of communication between the two sides open ahead of the future negotiation for the permanent transfer of Francisco Conceiçao.

While Juventus shipped off Djaló, the final attempts to send Filip Kostic to Saudi Arabia were in vain. Al-Ittihad was the last team that tried to convince him, Alfredo Pedullà informs. However, the Serb wasn’t fully sold.

The window has ended in the emerging league. The only remaining possibility is Turkey. Galatasaray are considering him as they are eyeing a reinforcement on that flank. They made a far-fetched attempt for Nuno Tavares in recent weeks, whom Lazio signed from Arsenal last summer.

Our Take on Juventus and Djaló

It’s not an ideal solution, as it’ll cost them a little, but at least he’ll get the chance to play regularly and resume being an asset. If he shows well, perhaps he’ll be a bargaining chip for Conceiçao. As for Kostic, it wouldn’t be the worst thing if he stayed as they aren’t super deep on the left wing.
