Juventus Planning to Sell Two Out-of-Sorts Forwards This Summer

Thiago Motta’s impending arrival will trigger significant changes at Juventus following an underwhelming 2023/24 season under Massimiliano Allegri. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via JuventusNews24, Filip Kostic and Samuel Iling-Junior could fall victim to the new manager’s restructuring plans.
Kostic and Iling-Junior used to occupy wing-back spots in Allegri’s infamous 3-5-2. However, Motta looks to reshape Juventus with a brand-new formation. The former Inter midfielder prefers a different set-up. His Bologna side often lined up in a 4-2-3-1, though he’s also comfortable with a 4-3-3.
Juventus signed Kostic from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 after vying for his signature for almost three years. However, the Serbia international has blown hot and cold in Turin and would be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of €10 million. And he isn’t the only first-team star whose future at the Allianz Stadium is in jeopardy.
Iling-Junior broke into the senior squad in October 2022. But he has struggled for regular game time. Motta has deemed his surplus to requirements, with Juventus slapping a €20m price tag on the Englishman’s head. At 20, the versatile forward still has ample room for improvement amid talks linking him with a move to the Premier League.
Another Juventus ace could follow Kostic and Iling-Junior through the exit door. Extension talks between the club and Federico Chiesa have hit a standstill. With the parties at loggerheads, the record-time Serie A champions could opt for a sale to raise funds for Motta’s recruitment campaign.
