Juventus Player Ratings vs Inter: Kostic Counters Kill Off Nerazzurri

At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus hosted their arch rivals Inter in the ever-so anticipated Derby d’Italia. Both sides were desperate for a win that prolongs their recent winning streaks and puts them closer to the top spot, but it was the Old Lady who emerged victorious in the end. The Bianconeri initially rode their luck as their opponents wasted several chances, and they made them pay for it in the second half with two goals courtesy of Adrien Rabiot and Nicolò Fagioli. So here are our players ratings for Juventus who earned an invaluable 2-0 victory over Inter.

Juventus (3-5-1-1)

Wojciech Szczesny – 7.5

A fabulous display from the former Roma goalkeeper who produced several saves, including a decisive one with his foot to deny Lautaro from scoring the equalizer.

Danilo – 7.5

The former Real Madrid man was an absolute beast at the back, making countless interceptions and blocks, and always putting himself in the right position. Scored from a lovely volley but it was disallowed by VAR as it had apparently touched his hand.

Gleison Bremer – 7

Another unyielding performer at the back for Juventus. The Brazilian proved his prowess against the club that was extremely close to signing him last summer. He managed to shake off a knock to his knee in the first half to produce a wonderful second-half performance.

Alex Sandro – 6.5

The third Brazilian at the back also deserves some credit as he fought hard for the cause. He made a suicidal dive in the first half to block an Inter shot on target.

Juan Cuadrado – 6

The Colombian ran hard on the right lane but he’s still lacking his splendid technical touch. The veteran would surely do with a break.

Nicolò Fagioli – 7.5

A brilliant display from the young midfielder who showcased his technical touch by picking up his teammates with some lovely balls. Put enough power behind his deflected shot to score the second goal of the night.

Manuel Locatelli – 7

An industrious performance from the former Sassuolo man who was all over the pitch. Won the majority of his duels against his foes.

Adrien Rabiot – 8

A top-notch display from the Frenchman who absolutely bossed the middle of the park, conclusively winning his personal duel with Nicolò Barella. Broke the deadlock for Juventus with a clinical finish from his weaker right foot.

Filip Kostic – 8.5

The Serbian was simply the man of the match following a majestic display. Provided two assists on the counters including one that saw him bringing the ball forward with a stunning run. His corner kick delivery was also behind Danilo’s disallowed goal, and he came close to scoring himself with a sublime shot, but was denied by the post.

Fabio Miretti – 6

A mixed bad from the teenager who ran hard and covered spaces in the middle, but was at times wasteful with the ball.

Arkadiusz Milik – 5

Although it wasn’t his fault for not getting any service, the Pole was an exiled and forgotten figure for as long as he lasted on the pitch.

Federico Chiesa – 6

The Italian made his first Serie A appearance since his horrendous injury in January, replacing Milik in the striker role. He dropped back to support his teammates in defense, but wasted a one-on-one with Onana, although he was in an offside position anyway.

Angel Di Maria – 6.5

The Argentine veteran returned from his third injury of the current campaign to play a short cameo. Played an integral role in the second goal which ultimately settled the match for Juventus.
