Juventus Player Ratings vs Inter: Vlahovic Ends Drought in Derby d’Italia Draw

At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus hosted Inter in a battle between the sides who recently emerged as the main Scudetto contenders. Federico Chiesa provided the assist for Dusan Vlahovic on the opener, but the Nerazzurri striking duo of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Thuram combined for a swift equalizer. As the match progressed, both sides seemed content with a draw, which explains the final result. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who settled for a point in their Derby d’Italia encounter against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.

Juventus (3-5-2)

Wojciech Szczesny – 6

The former Arsenal man had very little to do besides picking up the ball from his own net following Lautaro’s equalizer. The Argentine’s superb finish left him with no chance at all.

Federico Gatti – 5.5

Many will blame the former Frosinone man for losing track of Lautaro on the equalizer, but in his defense, all Juventus players were second to the ball on that particular play. On a different note, he should also work on improving his passing.

Gleison Bremer – 6.5

The Brazilian defender bullied Lautaro and Thuram with his superior physicality, never giving either one enough time and space to forge something useful.

Daniele Rugani – 6

The Italian should have avoided charging forward and trying to intercept the play on the equalizer, as his movement left a gap in the Juventus backline which was exploited by Martinez. But it was still a solid showing overall.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

The former Genoa man just isn’t as influential when playing on the right flank. Offered very little in the attacking phase. But to his credit, he managed to limit Federico Dimarco’s threat.

Weston McKennie – 6

A hardworking display from the Texan in the middle of the mark. Prevented Henrikh Mkhitaryan from creating play.

Hans Nicolussi Caviglia – 5.5

The young midfielder made his full debut for Juventus in the season’s toughest fixture, and his lack of minutes showed at times. He started on a positive note but lost his composure following a few poor passes in the second period which accelerated Locatelli’s introduction.

Adrien Rabiot – 6.5

A strong showing from the Frenchman who held extra weight on his shoulders in Locatelli’s absence during the first hour. While he didn’t surge forward as much as he had liked to, he did well to keep Barella at bay.

Filip Kostic – 6

The Serbian sacrificed himself for the team as he dropped deep to make sure Denzel Dumfries wasn’t allowed too much space to inflict damage on the wing.

Dusan Vlahovic – 7

The former Fiorentina man only needed one chance to put his name on the scoresheet. He won the ball himself before connecting brilliantly with Chiesa and scoring with his weaker foot. This is the Vlahovic that Juventus fans want to see on a constant basis.

Federico Chiesa – 7

The Euro 2020 winner put on a shift, running all over the pitch for as long as he lasted. Stormed into the box before finding Vlahovic in the traffic with a clever assist.
