Juventus Player Ratings vs Salernitana: Vlahovic Finds His Scoring Boots

At the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Juventus ended their three-match winless streak in Serie A with their biggest away victory of the season at the expense of the hapless Salernitana. Dusan Vlahovic broke the deadlock from the spot, and his compatriot Filip Kositc doubled the Old Lady’s lead before halftime. After the interval, the Serbian striker completed his brace, putting his side en route towards a comfortable win. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who eased past Salernitana with three unanswered goals.

Juventus (3-5-1-1)

Wojciech Szczesny – 6

The Pole was mostly a spectator this evening. He only had to monitor some long-range shots, with only a few of them coming close to his goal.

Danilo – 6.5

Another solid display from the stand-in captain who kept things clean and tidy at the back.

Gleison Bremer – 6.5

Aside from a poor pass early in the match, the former Torino man was in charge at back, completely nullifying Piatek’s threat

Alex Sandro – 6

The original left-back remains the weakest link in the Juventus backline, but he did maintain his composure against the Granata.

Mattia De Sciglio – 6.5

An impressive outing from the versatile fullback who delivered some exquisite crosses from the right flank towards the box early on.

Adrien Rabiot – 6

The Frenchman’s evening started on the wrong foot, and he risked receiving a second yellow card. Nonetheless, his performance improved as the match progressed, making himself involved on both ends of the pitch.

Manuel Locatelli – 6

The former Sassuolo midfielder is excellent when it comes to shielding the backline, but his passing wasn’t always on cue tonight.

Fabio Miretti – 6.5

Sadly, the 19-year-old was stretched off the pitch with what appears to be a concerning ankle injury at the end of the first half. But prior to this incident, the youngster was enjoying a positive outing, cleverly winning the spot kick which gifted Juventus the lead.

Filip Kostic – 6.5

It was an underwhelming evening for the Serbian until he managed snatch the Bianconeri’s second goal with a striker’s instinct. Awkwardly wasted a glorious counter attack in the second half.

Angel Di Maria – 7.5

The Argentine is a true joy to watch for football purists, and he remains the best source of inspiration for this Juventus side. Picked up Miretti’s run which resulted in the penalty kick, and rattled the woodwork with an ambitious long-range effort.

Dusan Vlahovic – 8

He’s Back! The former Fiorentina man produced a stellar display from start to finish. Converted the perfect spot kick to beat Guillermo Ochoa, before adding a second with a clinical finish. But above all, he superbly linked up with his teammates, setting up Di Maria and Chiesa.

Substitutes

Nicolò Fagioli – 7

A fantastic performance from the Italian who replaced the injured Miretti. Provided a sharp assist for Vlahovic’s second goal and also linked up the lines with his brilliant vision and passing.

Juan Cuadrado – 5

The Colombian remains far from his best physical condition based on this cameo. Wasteful in possession.

Federico Chiesa – 6

The Euro 2020 winner was eager to put his name on the scoresheet, so he adopted a slightly selfish approach with Juventus having a comfortable lead. Though, he did pick up Kean’s run with an exquisite pass.

Moise Kean – 6

A positive short cameo from the former PSG man. Almost scored from a difficult angle, but was denied by the post.

Samuel Iling-Junior – N/A
