Juventus Player Ratings vs Torino: Gatti Finds Redemption In Derby

At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus hosted Torino in the first Derby della Mole of the season. As is often the case, the Bianconeri emerged victorious over their crosstown rivals. Following an underwhelming first half, the hosts scored two goals on back-to-back corner kicks after the interval, courtesy of Federico Gatti and Arkadiusz Milik. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who secured a vital 2-0 win over Torino and boosted their position in the standings ahead of the international break.

Juventus (3-5-1-1)

Wojciech Szczesny – 6

Besides pulling off a routine save on Duvan Zapata late in the match, the Pole had very little to do on his way toward earning his third clean sheet in a row.

Federico Gatti – 7

This was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Italian defender following his traumatic evening at the Mapei a couple of weeks ago. Broke the deadlock by pouncing on a loose ball and held his own at the back against Nikola Vlasic.

Gleison Bremer – 7

The Brazilian was a rock at the back against his former club. Comfortably won the physical duel against Zapata and managed to endure the whole match despite eating a boot in the face courtesy of Kean.

Danilo – 7

The Juventus captain completes a trio of solid defensive displays for the home side. Demba Seck tried to cause him problems with his dribbling, but the veteran kept him at bay.

Timothy Weah – 6.5

An encouraging performance from the former Lille man upon his return to the starting formation. Linked up well with Kean on the disallowed goal and had some daring runs.

Weston McKennie – 6

A solid if not spectacular display from the American international who returned to feature as a midfielder.

Manuel Locatelli – 6.5

The Euro 2020 winner was exceptional at shielding the backline and kept things neat and tidy in the engine room.

Adrien Rabiot – 6

The Frenchman displayed positive signs and made some threatening runs towards the box. But still hasn’t quite reached last season’s levels.

Filip Kostic – 6.5

The Serbian cemented himself as a protagonist for Juventus. It was his corner kicks that provided the two goals. He also delivered a fabulous cross that Milik couldn’t translate into a goal.

Fabio Miretti – 5.5

The youngster struggled while interpreting the attacking midfielder role, at times stepping on his teammates’ shoes. His passing wasn’t too accurate as well. He left his spot for Milik at halftime.

Moise Kean – 6

The former Everton man thought he had broken the deadlock with a vicious finish but it was disallowed for offside. Worked hard for the team and displayed impressive ball control, but he’ll find it hard to maintain a starting spot once Dusan Vlahovic returns while he’s yet to score this season.

Substitutes

Arkadiusz Milik – 6.5

The Pole proved to be a game-changing substitution, as Juventus found a better rhythm following his half-time introduction. Although it wasn’t the neatest of touches, he nodded home the ball that secured the match for the Bianconeri and tested Milinkovic-Savic on another two occasions.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

The Italian was less lively than Kostic on the left lane but helped his side defend the result.

Kenan Yildiz – N/A
