Juventus Plot January Move for Sought-After Ligue 1 Midfielder

Juventus have reportedly joined AC Milan in the race to sign outgoing Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara. According to Calciomercato, the record-time Italian champions are plotting a January move for the prodigious Frenchman.

Kamara has less than a year left to run on his current contract at Marseille and has made it abundantly clear he wants a new challenge elsewhere. The 21-year-old will be able to negotiate personal terms with foreign clubs from the start of January. Several European sides are already lining up moves to secure his signature, including Juventus and Milan.

Despite refusing to commit to a new contract at the Stade Velodrome, Kamara continues to play a prominent role in Jorge Sampaoli’s set-up. Widely regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in Ligue 1, the up-and-coming midfielder has recorded 11 top-flight starts this season, scoring once.

Milan were heavily linked with a move for Kamara in the summer transfer window, but Marseille’s reluctance to give up on the youngster’s services saw the deal fail to materialize. The Rossoneri could miss out on bringing in the sought-after Frenchman as Juventus look to accelerate their pursuit of the Marseille stalwart.

The Bianconeri are aiming to reinforce several areas of the squad following another seemingly disappointing season. Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot are increasingly heading towards the Allianz Stadium exit, especially the former, who has failed to live up to expectations in Turin.

With Newcastle United and Tottenham laying their eyes on Ramsey, the January exit is looming. Therefore, Juventus are exploring several options in the market to replace the Welshman. Kamara looks to have emerged as the likeliest candidate, as his contractual situation in Ligue 1 makes him an affordable solution for the Serie A giants.
