Juventus Plot Massive Attack Overhaul

Juventus will, in all likelihood, return to the Champions League after a season-long absence. However, the record-time Italian champions are aware of their attacking shortcomings and intend to bolster their frontlines in the summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has set his sights on Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood. Currently on loan at La Liga side Getafe, the 22-year-old will return to Old Trafford this summer but only to move on.

Greenwood’s long-term prospects at Man United are dead in the water following his infamous rape scandal. Juventus are ready to offer him an escape route from England. But first, Bianconeri are hellbent on tying Federico Chiesa down to a new contract.

Talks between Juventus and the forward’s agents are well underway. Unlike Chiesa, Samuel Iling-Junior and Filip Kostic seem to have fallen out of the club’s plans for the future. They are ready to cash in on both wingers to finance Greenwood’s arrival.

In addition to the Englishman, Juventus are exploring several other profiles. Lazio’s Felipe Anderson is a long-term target. He’ll be a free agent at the end of the season, creating a perfect opportunity for Juventus to reinforce their attacking ranks in a low-cost operation.

But Giuntoli’s shortlist features two more names. Juventus are keeping close tabs on Anderson’s clubmate Mattia Zaccagni and Lille ace Edon Zhegrova. While the former is a less feasible option, the Ligue 1 star could be among the newcomers if the Turin giants can raise enough funds.
