Juventus Plot Winter Move for Highly-Rated Ligue 1 Midfielder

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing the highly-rated Lille midfielder Renato Sanches in the January transfer window. As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, the record-time Serie A champions are ready to offload a pair of underperforming midfielders to free up space for the Euro 2016 winner.

Juventus seriously consider the prospect of shifting the likes of Weston McKennie and Aaron Ramsey of the books in the upcoming transfer window. The Bianconeri are reportedly open to cashing in on their out-of-sorts stars for a fair price, though they have so far struggled to find suitors for the Wales international.

Ramsey has been a shadow of a player he used to be during his time at Arsenal, and given his whopping €7m-per-year wages, Juventus are keen to get him off the books. Meanwhile, McKennie has failed to impress new manager Massimiliano Allegri and could be on the move when the transfer window reopens for business at the start of 2022.

On the other hand, Juventus have set their sights on Renato Sanches, who has endured an injury-riddled start to the season. The 24-year-old midfielder hasn’t featured for Lille since early August due to a knee injury. But he is on the verge of returning to the fold after putting the physical setback firmly behind.

Renato has less than two years left to run on his current deal at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and has yet to commit to a new contract. Given his contractual situation, Lille might be willing to negotiate his sale as early as this winter to maximize their profit from the Portugal international’s departure.

Juventus are ready to swoop in and steal Sanches. With Les Dogues demanding approximately €15m to sanction their star’s move, the Turin heavyweights should have no problems matching their demands.
