Juventus Positioning Themselves to Attempt Pogba Reunion in 2022

Juventus do not have the funds to try acquiring Paul Pogba this summer, but they still wish to bring him back in the future. It could happen in the same fashion it did in 2012, in a Bosman move. The contract of the French star is up in 2022, and he has not reached an agreement with Manchester United to prolong it. The Bianconeri have already contacted his agent Mino Raiola to initiate the plan, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

PSG wanted to purchase the ace midfielder this summer, but the Red Devils have rejected every bid, the Daily Mail informs. They offered up to €65M to add him to their collection of stars. They would be in the running as well if Pogba left for free in a year.

Real Madrid also displayed interest in buying him in recent years. If the extension talks continued to be challenging, Manchester United could consider letting him go in January. However, they would have to settle for a reduced fee compared to his real value, Rai informs.

Juventus are looking to lay the groundwork early, as it is necessary for this type of deals. They will probably no longer have Cristiano Ronaldo’s mammoth wages on the books in 2022, making room for another rich salary. Signing Pogba would soften the blow and replenish their star power.

The midfielder has spent four years in Turin when he was younger. He accumulated 178 appearances with the Bianconeri, scoring 34 goals and contributing to four Scudetti. He returned to the Premier League club in 2016 in a €105M move.
