Juventus Prepare to Join Race for Cagliari Want-Away Nandez

Juventus seem to be wasting no time within the very few days remaining within the transfer window as the club is prepared to join the race for the Cagliari want-away Nahitan Nandez.

For the longest time, it seemed that the league-leaders Inter were the favourites to sign the 24 year-old as they expressed interest since the beginning of the season. However, the Nerazzurri’s negotiations have collapsed as they were unable to reach an agreement with Cagliari.

Although rumors have loomed across the nation that Napoli have ear-marked the Uruguayan international as a potential target, it seems that Juventus have become the front-runners within the race to obtain the midfielder’s signature.

According to Sky Italia, the Bianconeri have initiated contacts with Cagliari and are set to negotiate with the Rossoblu regarding a principle transfer fee for the Uruguayan midfielder.

As it stands, Juventus are set too offload midfield-outfits Arthur Melo and Aaron Ramsey within the next couple months as their spells with the Old Lady have been below-par. As a result, the club officials are eager to sign Nandez to fill the forthcoming void within the central-midfield role.

Since joining Cagliari three years ago, the Uruguayan international has only scored four goals in 84 appearances for the Rossoblu. Regardless of his underwhelming record within the   Serie A, the club officials view him as a vital asset and believe he can play a pivotal role in helping the Old Lady push for a Serie A title within the near-future through the use of his peripheral vision, his fine-tuned dribbling, and his flare of creativity within the final third of the pitch.
