Juventus’ plans to reshape the squad under Cristiano Giuntoli are taking shape, and the intention to add a new defender has taken the Bianconeri all the way to eastern Spain, where Valencia youth product Facundo Gonzalez is in the midst of a decisive transfer deal.
Latest information from Spain and Italy indicate that Juventus are on the verge of reaching an agreement in principle with the Uruguay U20 center-back, with his agent Martin Gustadisegno already doing the legwork to put a deal into place. Calciomercato reports of intense contacts taking place between Els Che and the Bianconeri in the past few days, with the transfer expected to be closed by the start of next week.

Gonzalez is expected to arrive on a permanent transfer, but it remains to be seen whether he will remain in the plans of Max Allegri or be loaned out, perhaps back to Valencia for one campaign. He was part of the Uruguay U20 team that recently won the FIFA U20 World Cup against Italy in the final.
Milan have monitored him in the past, as have minnows Salernitana. However, Giuntoli’s efforts have paid dividends, as Juventus prepare to welcome 20-year-old Gonzalez.
