Juventus Preparing Big-Money Bid for Nicolò Zaniolo

Juventus have completed a couple of major deals this summer, but they have no intention of putting the brakes. According to Calciomercato, the record-time Italian champions are readying a mega-money move for Roma stalwart Nicolò Zaniolo.

Juventus have already snapped up the services of Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba. Both players have signed for the Bianconeri after running down their contracts at Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, respectively. However, the Turin heavyweights are reluctant to stop there.

Zaniolo has been one of Massimiliano Allegri’s top targets heading into the summer transfer window. And Juventus are plotting a substantial €50m bid for the 23-year-old, with Roma reportedly inclined to accept such terms.

Jose Mourinho’s men have their backs against the wall as Zaniolo wants to cut ties with Roma. With two years left to run on his current contract at the Stadio Olimpico, the Italian forward will command a hefty price tag this summer.

Although Juventus are determined to close out a deal for Zaniolo, they are unwilling to fork out the whole figure at once. Matthijs de Ligt’s potential departure would help them raise funds for the highly-rated forward. But the Bianconeri would rather keep hold of the Dutchman.

Instead, Juventus hope to land Zaniolo on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy next summer. Another idea would include multiple payments. Yet, convincing Roma to come on board could prove tricky.

Mourinho is keen to revamp his attacking options ahead of the new season. That requires Roma to sell some prized assets. Who better than wantaway players, such as Zaniolo, to aid the club’s bid to collect funds.
