Juventus Pursuit of EPL Star Handed Huge Boost

Out-of-favor Manchester City star Kalvin Phillips has reportedly had a change of heart regarding a potential switch to Juventus. As per TMW, the 28-year-old is no longer convinced about staying in the Premier League after failing to drum up genuine interest from City’s fellow domestic rivals.
Juventus have identified the former Leeds United ace as a decent solution for their midfield crisis. With Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli out with suspension, Massimiliano Allegri is in the market for a new midfielder to fill the vacancy. Phillips has made it to the top of his list.
Widely expected to halt his disastrous spell at the Etihad Stadium in January, the Englishman has attracted Allegri’s attention. As a potential low-cost acquisition, Phillips would arrive in Turin on a short-term loan with an option to buy.
That’s because Juventus have no intention of matching the £42 million price tag Man City paid Leeds to acquire Phillips in 2022. Phillips has spent most of his career in Manchester as Pep Guardiola’s last choice in the middle of the park, causing a substantial drop in his value.
But despite his restricted playing time at Man City, Phillips remains a permanent fixture at the England national team. Plus, Liverpool and Newcastle United have laid their eyes on him. Since the duo has done nothing concrete, he’s now open to joining Juventus.
With the Scudetto race off and running, Juventus are keen to complete Phillips’ arrival early in January.
