Former Inter defender Milan Skriniar is desperate to cut ties with Paris Saint-Germain amid speculation he could replace Gleison Bremer at Juventus. According to Gazzetta dello Sport via IlBianconero, the Slovakia international would favor a return to Serie A if an opportunity presents itself in January.
Skriniar admitted he is ‘not happy’ at the Parc des Princes earlier this week, complaining about a lack of first-team opportunities under Luis Enrique. Indeed, the 29-year-old has only made two Ligue 1 appearances this season, tumbling down the pecking order in Paris. And Juventus could use that to their advantage.
Thiago Motta lost his defensive cornerstone, Bremer, to a season-ending injury against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League match. Though Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed the club won’t make rush decisions in the upcoming transfer window to replace their high-profile absentee, they may not pass on this chance.
Skriniar had a telling impact in Serie A before running down his contract at Inter last summer. Despite his household status at Giuseppe Meazza, he decided against pledging his loyalty to the reigning Scudetto holders in favor of joining PSG. He soon came to regret that choice. But Juventus could offer him an escape route from France.
With Bremer on the sidelines, Skriniar would likely have a more prominent role in Turin. On top of that, Juventus could part ways with long-serving stalwart Danilo in January after Motta deemed the Brazilian veteran surplus to requirements.
