Juventus Ready to Get Rid Off Star Midfielder

Adrien Rabiot has finally found his feet at Juventus, but it could be too little too late for the deep-lying midfielder if the recent reports from Calciomercato are to be believed. As per the Italian news outlet, the record-time Italian champions are considering offloading the Frenchman in the summer to free up space for a top-class midfielder.

Rabiot joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, carrying a reputation as one of Europe’s finest talents. However, things have not gone his way in Serie A. The Bianconeri have been patient with the 27-year-old, and it has paid dividends under Massimiliano Allegri’s stewardship.

The France international has gone from strength to strength this season, cementing his place at the heart of Juventus’ midfield. But Rabiot’s upturn in form may not save his career at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus are in the market for a new top-class midfielder to take the team’s quality to another level. Per various reports in Italy, Lazio’s long-serving stalwart Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is one of the profiles considered by the Bianconeri management ahead of the summer transfer window.

The competition for the Serb’s signature is fierce. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the race to lure him away from the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the season. Yet, Juventus are reluctant to give their chase of the 27-year-old and they are aware they’ll have to raise funds to complete the deal.

Rabiot could fall victim to Juve’s pursuit of Milinkovic-Savic. The Frenchman’s contract in Turin is due to expire in 2023, and Juventus will have to address his situation already in the summer. It is still uncertain whether there are interested parties following Rabiot’s underwhelming overall spell at the Allianz Stadium.
