Juventus have reportedly turned down Roma’s initial approach for in-demand youngster Matias Soule amid speculation linking the player with a move to Leicester City. Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano states the Bianconeri believe they could sell their wantaway forward to the Premier League for a higher price.
While Romano failed to disclose the figures, it’s believed Roma are unwilling to step beyond the €25 million threshold to get a deal over the line. Daniele De Rossi has earmarked the Juventus starlet as his top target for the summer after dropping his interest in Soule’s senior clubmate Federico Chiesa.
Roma have laid the groundwork for the 21-year-old’s arrival, as they agreed on personal terms with the Argentine wonderkid. Soule is eager to swap Juventus for the Stadio Olimpico, yet De Rossi’s men must raise their proposal to match the Turin powerhouse’s lofty €30m asking price.
On top of that, it’s uncertain whether Juventus want to let their unsettled jewel join their fierce Serie A rivals. There’s no doubt they’d prefer to send him to Leicester City. Unfortunately for Roma, the newly-promoted Premier League outfit can effortlessly outmatch their bid. And that’s what the Bianconeri are waiting for.
But as Romano’s update reads, Soule only wants Roma. Now, it’s all a matter of finance. If the Giallorossi can add another €5m to their opening bid, Juventus would unlikely stay immune despite angling for an abroad move for Soule. One way or another, the left-footed winger will leave the Allianz Stadium in the coming weeks.
