Juventus Reignite Interest in Standout Sassuolo Forward

Juventus have reportedly reignited their interest in in-form Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi as they ponder a squad overhaul in the summer. According to Fichajes (via JuveFC), the record-time Italian champions are plotting a summer swoop for the Italy international, who has enjoyed a stellar season at Mapei.

Despite Sassuolo’s mid-table struggle, Berardi has been one of the best-performing wingers in Serie A. The 27-year-old has tallied a staggering 14 goals and 14 assists from 27 league appearances, establishing himself as one of the most prolific players in Italy’s top-flight.

Berardi played a prominent role as Italy conquered Euro 2020 last summer. Despite their epic failure against North Macedonia in the 2022 World Cup qualification play-offs, the Sassuolo star was one of Roberto Mancini’s most trusted allies in the qualifying campaign.

His jaw-dropping performances have not gone unnoticed. Juventus are now back in contention to lure him away from the Neroverdi in the upcoming transfer window. With Federico Chiesa dealing with a long-term injury and Federico Bernardeschi failing to live up to expectations, manager Massimiliano Allegri is keen to revamp his attacking options.

Per reports, the Juventus head coach is giving serious thought to switching to a 4-3-3 system next season to get the best out of standout striker Dusan Vlahovic. Alvaro Morata is not a natural winger, while Paulo Dybala looks to be on course to wave goodbye to the Bianconeri at the end of the season.

After refusing to commit to a new deal at the Allianz Stadium, Dybala’s departure is a near-certainty, with Inter reportedly in pole position to sign him on a free transfer. The Argentine’s imminent transfer would leave a sizeable gap in the front third, forcing Juventus to dig into their pockets for a high-quality replacement.

Berardi looks to be their man, but Juventus should keep an eye on Milan, who have also emerged as potential suitors for the left-footed forward.
