Juventus Revisit Old Targets to Fill Out Their Attack

After fixing their defense and releasing Aaron Ramsey, Juventus have moved on to completing their attack with another forward. They have not added new names to the list compiled in previous weeks, or rather windows.

According to Sky, Alvaro Morata remains the favorite within the coaching staff and the management. Coach Massimiliano Allegri is pushing for a reunion. However, Atletico Madrid have not budged. He has tacked on another year on his contract, which now expires in 2024. The move could facilitate another loan, but the Colchoneros would want an obligation to buy this time out. The Bianconeri are willing to spend up to €20M for the Spaniard, but it may not be enough.

Juventus have Timo Werner and Antony Martial as the main alternatives to round out their attack, but their wages are sizeable. They have inquired with Chelsea and Manchester United. The Blues seem more open to a loan. Instead, the Frenchman could stay put since he has fared well in the pre-season and due to the uncertainty about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, The Guardian reports.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Old Lady have reignited the contacts with Atalanta for Luis Muriel, while Bologna intend to keep Marko Arnautovic. The Colombian, who has just a year on his contract, wants to leave and could depart for €15M or slightly less. The Bianconeri have also resumed pursuing Memphis Depay, Mundo Deportivo relays. He might not have much room because of Barcelona’s recent offensive additions.

Our Take on the Juventus Attack

The club still has a decent buck left from the Matthijs De Ligt sale, so a moderate investment could be incoming. It is time to end the Morata saga with a permanent move if the fee is not crazy. Otherwise, the pacey and versatile Muriel and Depay would be apt.
