Juventus and Barcelona are reportedly set to meet again to discuss a potential loan deal for Franck Kessie. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italians will make a new approach for the Ivory Coast international in the coming days.

The first contact between the sides took place a few days ago to understand a possible deal formula. Juventus prefer to sign Kessie on loan, while Barcelona would ideally cash in on him this summer. However, the player’s desire to stay at Camp Nou, even as a marginal figure, could be a stumbling block.

Kessie’s best days were in Serie A before he decided to call time on his career at Milan to join Barcelona last summer. Juventus may be banking on the 26-year-old’s fond memories in Italy to lure him back and offer him a fresh start. But the player remains undecided about his future, and so does the Blaugrana.

Juventus, on the other hand, have no doubt. They desperately need reinforcements in the engine room. Arthur Melo is on the verge of moving to Fiorentina on a season-long loan. Denis Zakaria and Weston McKennie are up for sale.

Therefore, Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield options are at a premium, forcing the club’s hand in the transfer window. Juventus know in-depth about pulling off this kind of deal. So optimism must be high in the Turin camp.
