Juventus Scheduled Another Meeting with Star Forward’s Agent to Discuss Contract Extensions

Juventus have reportedly scheduled a meeting with Paulo Dybala’s representatives over the forward’s contract extension. As reported by Calciomercato, the new round of talks between the Bianconeri and the Argentine’s camp will take place on Saturday.

Despite Dybala’s dip in form over the past couple of years, Massimiliano Allegri’s return to the helm has thrown the 27-year-old a new lifeline at Juventus. Ofter troubled by injuries, the ex-Palermo starlet managed just 14 Serie A starts under Andrea Pirlo last season, racking up four goals and three assists in the process.

However, Dybala was the best version of himself during Allegri’s previous tenure in Turin. The left-footed forward tallied 26 goals and seven assists across all competitions in 2017/18 before Maurizio Sarri took over the managerial reins the following summer.

Allegri now believes he could get the best out of Dybala once again. The Italian tactician has urged Juventus to hand the Argentina international a new contract, with his current one due to expire next summer.

Dybala earns around €7.3m per year. A new deal would increase that figure to approximately €10m-a-year, including add-ons, and would tie him down to Juventus until the summer of 2025.

The player’s agent, Jorge Antun, continues to insist on a €50m release clause to be inserted in a new contract. Meanwhile, Juventus remain firm in their intention to set that figure at €70m, which has so far been a sticking point.

Negotiations are well underway as Juventus refuse to give up one of their standout names. Losing a player of Dybala’s status and quality on a free transfer would be a massive blow for the record-time Serie A champions.

So if talks hit another stalemate, Dybala might leave Juventus in the ongoing transfer window.
