UPDATED: Juventus Officially Acquire Kaio Jorge from Santos

Juventus will bring in Kaio Jorge right away, as they have reached an agreement with Santos on a small fee. The 19-year-old striker is currently practicing on his own in Recife and will fly to Turin Wednesday, Goal.com reports. A ten-day quarantine will delay the proceedings, but the Brazilian club already made the deal official.

Juventus could pay up to €4M for the Brazilian starlet: €1.5M immediately, €1.5M when they qualify to the Champions League, and €1M add-ons depending on how much he plays. Santos will also get five percent of a future sale and priority in case of a future loan to a South American team. The player will ink a five-year contract, Gianluca Di Marzio reported.

Juventus could have added him on a free in January but opted to negotiate with the Peixe. His deal is indeed up in a few months, as the claims about it being longer were incorrect. President Andres Rueda stated during the weekend: “It is not true that we will sell him poorly; we are forced to do it because of his contractual situation.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Massimiliano Allegri desired to insert another center-forward on top of Alvaro Morata. Kaio Jorge will be integrated slowly, as the coach has done with every youngster during his tenure. Juventus beat Milan in the race, as the Rossoneri did not want to participate in a bidding war. Benfica made a higher offer to Santos, but the forward preferred moving to Serie A and turned it down.
