Juventus Searching For a Young Backup for Vlahovic

Juventus intend to find a deputy with upside for Dusan Vlahovic and have laid eyes on two talents: Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo and Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier. Both would be quite pricey, though. The Bianconeri want to offload Arkadiusz Milik this summer after selling Moise Kean to Fiorentina.

According to TuttoSport, the Old Lady is eyeing somebody to back up the Serb and potentially play along with him. The German forward has drawn comparisons with Thomas Muller for his style. He bagged 16 goals in 33 appearances last season. He starred for two seasons on loan at Hannover 96 before making it to the top division. The 21-year-old was called up for Euro 2024 and played 25 minutes during the competition.

Juventus will have to open the wallet for either Beier or Kalimuendo as they are both under contract long-term. The Frenchman has a €40M valuation. He’s currently taking part in the Olympic Games.

He has led the Rennes’ frontline for the past two seasons after joining from PSG, recording 22 goals and 10 assists in 78 games.

Our Take on Juventus, Kalimuendo, and Beier

They’ll need somebody if they part ways with Milik too. However, since they already have a lot on their plate, a major investment is unlikely. Unless they decide to bring in somebody who could potentially succeed Vlahovic too down the line. If Federico Chiesa’s salary is an issue, that’s decisively more the case for him, but his contract is up in 2026, so they have decided to file the issue away to next summer.
