Juventus Set Sights on Marko Arnautovic

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri remains on the hunt for a new backup striker for standout performer Dusan Vlahovic. After Hellas Verona’s Giovanni Simeone, Marko Arnautovic of Bologna has emerged as another potential candidate to reinforce Juve’s attacking department.

According to Calciomercato, Allegri is open to the prospect of signing the 33-year-old goal-getter to add to his firepower. The Italian’s preferred choice was Milan’s Olivier Giroud. Yet, the Rossoneri have no intention of cutting ties with the Frenchman whatsoever.

Negotiations between Juventus and Atletico Madrid over another loan deal for Alvaro Morata are already underway. Even though the Spaniard looks likely to stay in Turin for at least another season, the Bianconeri are keen to land an additional striker.

Moise Kean has failed to convince Allegri. Despite being handed plenty of opportunities from the bench last season, the ex-Everton man has fallen short of expectations. Therefore, Arnautovic, who enjoyed a solid season at Bologna, has been touted as a concrete target for Juventus.

Our take on Arnautovic’s potential move to Juventus

Arnautovic is not getting younger, yet he rolled back the years last season. The veteran marksman tallied 14 goals and an assist in 33 Serie A appearances for Bologna.

He was an integral part of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad that secured a respectable 13th-place finish last term. Given Arnautovic’s importance to Bologna’s set-up, the Rossoblu are reluctant to give up his services.

Meanwhile, Juventus are exploring several other options in the market. In addition to Simeone, Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik is another profile considered by the Bianconeri management.

On that basis, Arnautovic seems likely to stay put at Renato Dall’Ara.
