Juventus Shortlist Budding Bologna Star for Next Summer

Juventus have an immediate need in the midfield, but they are also scouring the market ahead of the summer session considering Adrien Rabiot’s uncertain future, and they have started pursuing Lewis Ferguson, Tuttomercatoweb informs.

Bologna managed to extend his contract in recent months and don’t want to negotiate his departure in January. However, they might be open for business at the end of the season.

Ferguson has drawn the attention of Juventus, and likely further top clubs, by following up his solid maiden Serie A campaign with a convincing start. He has recorded 3 goals and 2 assists already. His successful finish was enough to take down Lazio in the past round, fueling Bologna’s European ambitions.

The 24-year-old bagged 7 goals in 2022/2023. He was acquired for €2M from Aberdeen in 2022. He’s contracted with the Felsinei until 2027, with a one-year option, and has six caps with Scotland.

Our Take on Juventus and Ferguson

Even though he has played in very offensive roles in Emilia, there’s no reason he can’t turn into a box-to-box. He’s been tremendous so far, and he’d be a great choice to either replace Rabiot, as he has the same imposing physicality, or also play along with him. Bologna are ambitious but also pragmatic when they get good offers, as last summer’s departures of Jerdy Schouten and Nicolas Domingez prove. However, they had a lot less time on their deals.
