Juventus Shortlist Porto Duo to Replenish Their Wings

Juventus are fielding offers for Federico Chiesa and Matias Soulé and would need new pieces if one or both left and have earmarked Francisco Conceiçao and Galeno for that purpose. The former isn’t sure to stay put following his father’s departure, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The youngster played second fiddle to Rafael Leao during Euro 2024, scoring once. He returned to Portugal after a turn at Ajax, tallying 8 goals and 8 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. He has six caps with his national team. Os Dragoes paid €10M to bring him back from the Netherlands.

Juventus would need to invest heavily to sign either Francisco Conceiçao or Galeno, as they are both valued at €30M. The latter was signed by his current team in 2017 but then shipped off to Braga later on. They purchased him again in 2022 for nearly €10M. He has been a staple of the formation and has been highly productive since.

The Porto duo joins Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho among the rumored Bianconeri targets on the wings.

Our Take on Juventus, Conceiçao, and Galeno

It’d be counter-intuitive for them to cash in on Soulé and part ways with Chiesa and then spend the same figures, or more, for new wingers. They’ll probably get creative with the formulas if both departures get together, and it’s hard to imagine they would be able to do that with the Portuguese side. Chances are they’ll add a pure speedster and somebody cheap with a high work rate to back up Kenan Yildiz.
