Juventus plot to inject fresh blood on the defensive flanks and have started eyeing Raoul Bellanova. The youngster is having an impressive season at Cagliari. The Sardinians will buy him out in the summer, but he might not stay for long.
The Rossoblù signed him on loan from Bordeaux and will pay just €700k to acquire him permanently. His price tag has skyrocketed in 2021-2022 through a string of quality performances. The 21-year-old has scored once and tallied 2 assists in 21 appearances so far. He has been particularly precious once Nahitan Nandez went down with a knee injury. He had already supplanted their other options beforehand.
Juventus might have to spend €8-9M to acquire Bellanova, Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti informs. The Bianconeri have been linked to a similar player in Andrea Cambiaso lately. However, a bidding war might be afoot for the Genoa starlet.
Bellanova is a product of the Milan youth academy, and Juventus tried to put him under contract when he left it to join Bordeaux in 2019. He confirmed it in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb: “I was very close to Manchester City at the time. Also Tottenham, Sampdoria, Bologna, and the Bianconeri inquired about me back then.”
After six months in France, Atalanta brought him back to Italy on loan, but he logged just one appearance. He began to break out at Pescara in Serie B in 2020-2021 and fully flourished after moving to Cagliari. Juventus are doing their homework early in order to beat out the competition for Bellanova.
