Juventus Show Significant Interest in Monza Goalkeeper

Juventus have started to lay the groundwork to sign Michele Di Gregorio next summer. The goalie has had two solid seasons with Monza in Serie A. His team probably wouldn’t obstruct his departure if a big team asked for him, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.

The shot-stopper was redeemed by the Brianzoli for €4M following their promotion. His value is four of five times that sum now. He’s under contract until 2027. The 26-year-old has conceded 66 goals and kept 21 clean sheets in 59 matches in the top-flight.

Di Gregorio isn’t a prodigy but is significantly younger than the two Juventus goalies. The Bianconeri are keen for either role. They are in no rush to move on from Wojciech Szczesny, but they would likely do it if he didn’t re-up his deal, which ends in 2025, and they received a good offer.

The prospective newcomer could also begin as a no.12 and eventually take over, as the Pole did a few years back.

The Monza star is an Inter youth product but wouldn’t pass on the opportunity. He’s too expensive for the Nerazzurri, who will continue with Yann Sommer. Napoli and Roma could potentially target him too.

Our Take on Di Gregorio and Juventus

He’s impressive and ready for the jump to a bigger team and wouldn’t command a major fee, which is a bonus. It’s noteworthy that they are starting to get linked to goalies. Perhaps the talks with Szczesny aren’t going that well. They shouldn’t risk a Bosman departure.
