Juventus Star Defender Bremer Diagnosed with ACL Tear

The injury suffered by Gleison Bremer is as serious as initially feared, as Juventus confirmed that he tore the ACL in the left knee. Instead, Nicolas Gonzalez got away with a relatively minor problem after leaving the RB Leipzig game early as well. He’s been diagnosed with a low-grade rectus femoris in his right thigh.

The Brazilian defender will miss most of the season, if not its entirety, depending on how the rehab goes. He’ll have surgery in the coming days. The Argentine will try to recuperate during the break but might be sidelined for a week or two past it.

Bremer was the only Juventus star who had logged full minutes so far and was in dominant form. The Bianconeri gave up two goals after he left, one more than they had conceded in all previous fixtures combined.

The Old Lady will turn to Federico Gatti, Pierre Kalulu, Juan Cabal, and Danilo in the middle of the defense. Instead, Francisco Conceiçao and Timothy Weah will take over from Nico Gonzalez on the right wing.

Our Take on Juventus and Bremer

It’s a massive blow as he and Dusan Vlahovic were the only ones they couldn’t afford to lose given the lack of a strong deputy and the level of their recent showings. They probably won’t, but they should think about adding a free agent, or they’ll put too much mileage on their other defenders. Pierre Kalulu has been great so far but wasn’t the picture of health at Milan.
