Juventus Star Set to Miss Out on Euro 2024 With Knee Injury

Juventus forward Arkadiusz Milik will likely miss out on the upcoming European Championship after suffering an injury in Poland’s last warm-up fixture. Poland manager Kacper Probierz confirmed fans’ worst fears immediately after a 3-1 win against Ukraine on Friday.

Milik will not go to the European Championships, and I have three other players at risk of leaving. We have to make arrangements with the medical staff,” Probierz said, as quoted by Calciomercato.

Despite playing second fiddle to Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus, Milik was supposed to play a prominent role for Poland this summer. However, he’ll watch the tournament on the sidelines following a nasty collision with Genoa midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Milik limped off the pitch shortly after he injured his knee while attempting to tackle the ex-Atalanta playmaker. His trailing leg remained stuck, causing him severe pain, which forced Probierz to take him off. Before heading back to Juventus, he’ll undergo further checks in Poland.

Juventus will get to know the extent of the damage only after further examinations, but the early prognosis doesn’t look promising. Milik registered 32 Serie A appearances for the record-time Italian champions in 2023/24, bagging four goals.

But he wasn’t central to Massimiliano Allegri’s plans by any stretch of the imagination. Just seven league starts probably best illustrate Milik’s status at Juventus. It’s, therefore, unsurprising they’re in the market for a new forward.

Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood could be the club’s marquee summer arrival after Juventus opened talks to sign the English youngster.
