Juventus Starlet Has Substantial Gambling Debt

Another illegal betting scandal continues to shake Italian football, with Juventus youngster Nicolo Fagioli at the thick of it. Alongside Newcastle United playmaker Sandro Tonali and Aston Villa forward Nicolo Zaniolo, the 22-year-old has come under the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

Unlike his other two compatriots, who are no longer plying their trade in Serie A, Fagioli faces a severe punishment should the accusations prove legit. In the midst of an unlawful betting saga, the news of the prodigious midfield owing a substantial amount of money to underground bookies has hit the surface.

It appears Fagioli has a sizeable €70,000 gambling debt. The amount merely highlights the extent of the Juventus starlet’s addiction. At such a young age, when his career is just taking off, it’s the last thing the Italian needs. However, he’ll have to weather the storm of his own making.

I know Fagioli owes a lot of money too. I assure you it is not just organized crime that runs betting rings in Rome. A singer and DJ, who is rather famous, is a very important bookie in the Capital,” gossip columnist Fabrizio Corona stated, as quoted by Calciomercato

Corona moved on to name the exact amount the Juventus midfielder has to pay back to his bookie.

I know that he has players who gamble and that Fagioli now owes him €70,000.

Fagioli’s off-field turmoil threatens to hurt Juventus further down the line. They’ve already come under scrutiny for ‘failing to report’ the youngster’s issue after learning about it.
