Juventus Starlet Matias Soule Opens Up on Joining Bianconeri

Matias Soule admits it took him only ten minutes to choose Juventus when the Italians knocked on his door in 2020. The record-time Serie A champions poached him as a minor from Velez Sarsfield three years ago, giving him a taste of Europe’s football at a young age.

Soule’s rise to stardom during a relatively brief loan spell at Frosinone has made him one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects. In ten Serie A appearances for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side, the 20-year-old forward has tallied five goals and an assist, emerging as one of the division’s best performers.

His impressive form at the start of the season has brought him under Luciano Spalletti’s radar. Unfortunately for Italy, the Juventus loanee has opted for Argentina, his country of berth. Regardless of his international preferences, Soule’s club future is in Serie A, with Bianconeri contemplating bringing him back to Turin in January.

Looking back at his decision to join Juventus in the first place, Soule insists he had no doubts about linking up with the Allianz Stadium outfit.

I was at a barbecue with my father and my agent and the European teams who wanted me were revealed to me,” he said, as quoted by TMW. “They told me: ‘Choose calmly, take all the time you need.’ After ten minutes, I replied: ‘I choose Juventus.’

It was the most beautiful and demanding challenge, even though they weren’t the club who offered me the most money,” the rising Juventus star revealed.
