Nicolò Fagioli will miss seven months after plea bargaining his suspension for gambling on football matches. He realized he had to get out of it in May.

Juventus Starlet Set for Long-Awaited Return to Action

Nicolo Fagioli was supposed to be among the leaders of the new Juventus generation. But inexperience and poor habits have hindered his development before his senior career took off.

Italian authorities found Fagioli guilty of breaching betting rules toward the end of 2023. And the disaster ensued. Sentenced to a seven-month hiatus from football in late October, the 23-year-old has spent most of the season on the sidelines. However, Juventus fans will soon see their homegrown star back in action.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the highly-rated midfielder could be at Massimiliano Allegri’s disposal for the upcoming clash against Bologna in the penultimate round. If Serie A pushes back the date to May 20 instead of 19 (as rumored), Fagioli could register his seventh league appearance of 2023/24.

If that doesn’t happen, he’ll be available for selection on the final weekend when Juventus take on Monza. His suspension expires in less than a month, more precisely on May 19. By the time they meet Raffaele Palladino’s team, Bianconeri should already have a top-four finish in the bag.

Fagioli’s impending return is among the rare positives in an otherwise troubled time for the record-time Italian champions. Kenan Yildiz’s expected contract extension is another cause for celebration among the Juventus faithful.

Both youngsters have bright futures and are expected to shape a new era at Juventus after four years of suffering. Allegri’s side would use Fagioli’s creativity to address a lack of chances created and improve on one of the club’s weakest scoring campaigns in Serie A.
