Juventus have reportedly grown tired of waiting for Adrien Rabiot to make up his mind on his future in Turin and are taking steps to sign Khephren Thuram. According to Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italians have accelerated talks with Nice over the Frenchman’s move to Serie A.
Rabiot’s hesitance to respond to Bianconeri’s contract offer has started to annoy the club hierarchy, let alone the fans. The 29-year-old got Juventus on a rollercoaster ride last summer, and they’re determined to avoid another contract saga this time. As such, they’ve got in touch with the Ligue 1 side to gather information about Thuram.
Irrespective of their ongoing pursuit of Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, Juventus are keen to land the 23-year-old, who’s close to leaving the French Riviera. Thuram’s contract at Nice expires in 12 months, and he’s reluctant to pen a new deal, forcing the club to consider offers this summer.
He could be available for as low as €15-18 million, an opportunity Juventus are eager to capitalize on. Other Serie A teams, such as Inter and Milan, are also in the mix, but Thiago Motta’s men have taken concrete steps to see off the competition.
Thuram’s arrival would probably speed up Rabiot’s exit. The ex-Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is a wanted property, with European champions Real Madrid recently joining the race to capture his services. The only question is whether Juventus would continue to track Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners.
