Juventus Stepping Up Talks to Sign Jean-Clair Todibo

Juventus and OGC Nice have reportedly intensified talks over Jean-Clair Todibo’s move to the Allianz Stadium. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian giants are willing to put forward up to €40 million to sign the French center-back.
Todibo has already agreed to join Juventus on a five-year deal worth €2.5m net per season plus add-ons. But negotiations with Nice are complicated. Thiago Motta’s men face stiff competition from Premier League side West Ham United.
While the 24-year-old is keen to continue his career at Juventus, West Ham’s offer outmatches the Italians’ proposal. Julen Lopetegui’s charges have seen their €36m bid approved by Nice, yet they’ve yet to convince Todibo to choose them over Juventus.
Juventus would ideally land Todibo on loan with a mandatory buy option. However, the French club won’t accept such a prospect. On top of that, they’re unwilling to budge on their valuation of the former Barcelona outcast. But negotiations are at least underway.
Aware that they must raise funds to facilitate Todibo’s arrival, Juventus have placed Dean Huijsen on the market. After faring well during a six-month loan at Roma in the second half of last season, the 19-year-old has drawn interest from Stuttgart and Wolfsburg.
Deemed surplus to requirements by Motta, Huijsen is ready to bid farewell to Juventus. His departure would likely accelerate Todibo’s transfer, but the record-time Serie A champions must not lose more time, with West Ham already working around the clock to change the Frenchman’s mind.
